BASICS PRINCIPLES OF COUNSELLING PROCESS
☆ Principles of Acceptance:-- According to this principle each client must be accepted as an individual and dealt with as such. The counsellor should give due regard to the right of the client.
☆ Principles of respect for the individual:-- All the school of thought of Counselling advocate for the respect of individual respecting an individual feelings must be an integral part of Counselling process.
☆ Principle of permissiveness:-- Counselling is such a relationship which develop optimism and the environment shapes according to the person. All the thought accept the relative relationship of Counselling.
☆ Principles of thinking with the individual:-- Counselling emphasize thinking with the individual. It is essential to differentiate think for whom? and why to think? It is the role of counsellor to think about all the forces around the client to join client's thoughts-------process and to work collectively with the client regarding his problem.
☆ Principle of consistency with ideals of democracy:--- All the principles are associated with ideals of democracy. The ideals of democracy desire to accept a person and want to respect the right of others. The process of Counselling is based upon the ideals of a person's respect. It is process which accept individual differences.
☆ Principle of learning:-- The presence of learning elements in the Counselling process.

☆ Educational counseling:-- Educational counseling is concerned with helping the pupil in deciding about the curriculum for study. In the context of various aptitudes various capabilities and natural tendencies pupil can be helped through educational Counselling it helps a person in problems related to education.
☆ Vocational Counseling:--- Vocational counseling is that process in which a person is helped in selecting a proper vocation and preparing for that. The decision regarding a vocation is a very serious affair and hence, it need special attention otherwise mal- adjustment and unhappiness can be the result.
☆ Personality Counselling :-- The solution of personal and emotional problems comes under personality isolation, inferiority, complexs etc. It is very essential to attend these problems otherwise this affects the school education of the pupil. The lack of such Counselling may create disturbed , unhappy and unadjusted mental stage.
☆Psychological Counselling:-- The term "psychological Counselling " was used first of all by R.W. White. In psychological counseling, the counsellor is just like a therapist or doctor. The counsellor helps the client in the expression of his suppressed needs, feelings and emotions through this normal talk.
☆Psychotherapeutic Counselling:-- W.V. SNYDER:--- "Psychotherapeutic counselling is the face to face relationship in which a psychologically trained individualy. RUTH STRANG has said that these both are multually relates. At present it is agreed that the Counselling is remedial in nature. Psychotherapeutic Counselling is very useful and important in eliminating social mal-adjustment .
☆ Clinical Counseling:---- Clinical Counselling are:----
1)- Diagnosis and treatment of minor functional mal-adjustments.
2)- A relationship primarily individual and face to face between counsellor and client.
It is clear that clinical Counselling is concerned with the mal-adjustment related to a person's normal functioning in this direct relationship between the counsellor and the client is involved.
In clinical counseling process the problems is analyzed and efforts are made to solve the problems. Clinical psychology is an important branch of psychology. In clinical psychology a person is helped who develops mal-adjustment and some problems in self-expression. Clinical counseling and clinical psychology have much similarities.
☆ Marriage Counseling:-- These days marriage Counselling has also started. In this suggestion are made for the proper selection of life partner and person is helped to the maximum. Married client are helped to solve their married life problems. These can behaviour reason of married life problems. They need counseling.
☆ Placement Counselling:-- Placement Counselling means to help the client in selecting the vocation according to his aptitudes and abilities helping the client in his appointment in the occupation for which he posseses abilities and from which he get job satisfaction.
From these types of Counselling we come to know that a person faces problems in these spheres. The types of Counselling depends upon the nature of the problem. But the area of a problem cannot be restricted. The counsellor should be ready to solve or to face all types of problems.
IMPORTANCE AND ROLE OF COUNSELLING
The term "Counselling has many confusing meaning and there are many wide applications to it as well. To go by the dictionary meaning the term Counselling mean" the provision of professional assistance and guidance in resolving personal or psychological problems. "
Many of us might have found ourselves in the role of a counsellor at times and also many of us might have used Counselling of others in our life but the actual meaning of Counselling the role of a counsellor and its importance are quite unclear concepts to many of us.
When facing a some psychological problems we often to socially isolate ourselves from every one and keep our mind to find a solution. But there are times when we are not able to help ourselves. Children, students, adults and old age people every one can go to a counsellor for help at any point of time in life.
A counsellor hears all the problems thought feeling of his/her subject find out his /her solution and do not judge them on any account. This is what makes one feel more comfortable and establishes a relation with the counsellor.
We all have guided and counseled many people in our life time and when we need to seek advice from some one we also to people who are elder to us more experienced than us or to people who are trusted by us. But there comes a situation in life when we do not find an appropriate listener and counsellor plays on important role as he/she analyses your problem and look over the situation with a fresh perspective and give the subject as many solution as possible.
Many old age people who are often treated as commodity in their houses feel the need of some Counselling, so that they do not take any wrong decision and a counsellor becomes a friend to whom they can share everything.
Adolescent is the age when many children often make wrong decisions in lack of guidance and if there is a counsellor who is there to listen and guide them without judging or punishing them then they can actually be more frank and focus on good things.
Counselling also help one improve the skill of decision making, reduce tension, maintain a better self-esteem and confidence and feel more positive toward life.
