COUNSELOR----- COUNSELEE   RELATIONSHIP

Guidance and counselling in the early stage of its development was counselor-centered in the sense that the counselor assumed the responsibility of telling the counselee what course or which jobs were most stuible for him or he was fit for what the new trend assert that the responsibility to take such decisions would be that of the counselee himself. The counselor or the guidance worker should create a situations in which it becomes easy for the individual to arrive at some decision. This is done by providing needed information by discussing and interpreting the reactions of the counselee . Modern trend is not to make a choice or decision for the counselee or directing his choice but to help him to make the choice himself. The trend emphasizes that all counselee -centered . It is help given to the counselee to develop in to an independent and self reliant individual who can solve the problems himself and can take decisions at his own the present as well as in future.  The developing trend has been to given the counselee an increasingly responsible role in his own guidance.
